The Federal High Court of Nigeria has launched an electronic filing (e-filing) system at its Lagos Division to enhance transparency and efficiency in the administration of justice.
The system was officially introduced on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the court premises in Lagos.
Speaking at the launch, the Chief Judge of the court, Justice John Tsoho, said the initiative was part of ongoing judicial reforms aimed at modernising court processes.
According to him, the e-filing platform will allow legal practitioners to file cases and processes online, thereby reducing delays and improving access to justice.
In a statement, Mr Tsoho said“, This initiative is designed to improve transparency, eliminate unnecessary human interference and ensure that court processes are handled more efficiently”.
Also speaking, the Chief Registrar of the court, Sulaiman Hassan, said the system would significantly reduce paperwork and enhance record management.
“With the introduction of e-filing, lawyers can now initiate and manage their cases remotely without the stress of physical filing. It will also improve tracking and accountability,” Hassan stated.
The Lagos Division is expected to serve as a pilot phase for the initiative, with plans underway to extend the system to other divisions of the court nationwide.
