The Dangote Refinery has increased its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) by N75 per litre, raising it from N1,200 to N1,275 per litre.
The adjustment also saw coastal supply prices rise to N1,215 per litre, according to industry data and a refinery official who confirmed the development.
The price change reportedly followed operational adjustments, including a temporary suspension of the refinery’s Proforma Invoice system, which disrupted normal sales and loading activities.
As a result, sales of petrol and Automotive Gas Oil were briefly halted, affecting supply scheduling within the downstream sector.
Traders and marketers have expressed concern over the development, warning that the increase could lead to higher fuel costs across the country.
The situation comes amid rising global crude oil prices, which have continued to put pressure on refining and import costs worldwide.
