The Ologere of Ogere-Remo, James Obafemi Saliu, has commissioned a newly constructed office complex for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to strengthen road safety operations along the busy Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The facility was unveiled as part of activities marking the monarch’s third coronation anniversary and is expected to enhance emergency response to road accidents and improve traffic management along the critical highway linking major commercial hubs.
Speaking at the event, Oba Saliu emphasised the need for proactive measures to safeguard lives, noting that Ogere-Remo’s strategic location along the expressway exposes it to frequent road traffic incidents.
“This intervention is about saving lives and supporting those who work daily to keep our roads safe,” the monarch said.
He added that the new complex would significantly boost the operational efficiency and visibility of the FRSC in the area.
The traditional ruler also highlighted his administration’s commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, revealing that similar support has been extended to the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies.
Oba Saliu commended the Ogun State Government led by Dapo Abiodun, as well as community leaders and development partners, for their collaboration in promoting safety and development initiatives.
Stakeholders and residents at the event described the project as timely, expressing optimism that an improved FRSC presence would reduce response time during emergencies and help curb accident rates along the expressway.
The commissioning marks another milestone in the monarch’s development-focused reign, reinforcing efforts to promote safety and security in Ogere-Remo and its environs.
