In front of the 2027 governorship election, Kebbi State commissioners have received the nomination and expression of interest forms for Governor Nasir Idris from the All Progressives Congress, or APC.

On behalf of forum members, the forms were obtained in Abuja by Commissioner for Finance and Chairman of the Commissioners’ Forum Abubakar Chika and Commissioner for Special Duties Zayyanu Aleiro.

The development comes after the forum’s members voted in favor of the governor and promised to buy his nomination form in support of his administration at a political gathering in Birnin Kebbi last year.

The APC announced the opening of the form sale on Tuesday, marking the start of the nomination process for candidates.

The party’s national headquarters in Abuja published the N50 million nomination and expression of interest forms.

As candidates for various elective positions start consultations and official notifications to party leaders in accordance with APC norms, the action coincides with an increase in political activity inside the party.

At a recent APC rally in the state, Governor Idris had previously reiterated support for President Bola Tinubu and unity within the party.
